I have been practicing yoga for 11 years to balance out a demanding career in the financial industry. I am passionate about working with people. I aim to help others become more active, develop confidence, awareness and release physical and emotional tension. I enjoy helping others connect and better themselves. I hope to help my students find contentment and happiness within themselves and help them along in their yoga journey. On a more technical side, I like to focus on alignment and give people options to work with their own individual body. I offer adjustments and variations to make poses accessible to all physiques and levels. I make yoga accessible to everyone and not just those are bendy. I am adaptable and versatile to change (with the pandemic, views around offering hand-on assistance have changed as students may not be comfortable so offering more verbal assistance and cues) so it’s important to respect student’s needs in the studio. Teaching over Zoom, I am able to offer verbal and visual cues to student to help them refine their practice. Communication skills are a key strength of mine, I like to keep instructions simple and active. Having completed a two-year long yoga qualification course, it has given me time to develop valuable knowledge and experience on how to adapt and modify poses to fit different bodies and how to use yoga props as a tool to make poses accessible and adaptable to students – which is important to me. I have an intention to create a calm and safe environment for students to practice within.
